The story behind it
01/11/2011
"In depth", 2007.
It is week-end and there is a family lunch. Outside, the rain keeps dripping in a grey and monotonous manner. The light is terrible for photographing and it looks like a null day for it. But a group of wet leaves, disarranged (or arranged?) by the wind and the rain, seem to me irresistible for my analog camera with B&W film!
For a great photograph you don't always need a "complicated" occasion.

Technical issues
01/11/2011
This photograph results from scanning B&W TMAX 400 35mm Kodak film. The camera was the Nikon F80, with my 24mm lens. No tripod, no filters. Simple execution with a simple click. I then took several photographs with different exposures, to then choose the best. I bent down to level the camera and lens close to the ground.
Critial review
01/11/2011
This is a photograph full of volume, not only because of the shades, contrasts from the water drops and leaves lines, but also because of the heavy grain of the film. The small bottom part of the floor plays a fundamental part on composition, providing depth. Each leaf provides an area of light and shadow. Among the shadows, the water drops provide the whole with a shinning, all over the photograph.
Where you should place it
01/11/2011
Since this is a "fine art" photograph, it will go well in a place where the art on whatever is done is valued. This is a photograph that deserves a very large print, also because the quality digital scan allows such. I suggest a thick frame, either black or white.
