The story behind it

It is a day of rest. But, unlike other days of rest, I take the camera with me. The Sun is magnificent, calling the sap and the chlorophill up to the first leaves of the year. There are shouts and loud laughter in the park. Some run. Others walk, sit, jump, or just lie on the grass. We are of all ages, all colours, all styles and credos. There is eye contact. It is as if there is a global complicity in sharing that light, the space and the energy in the air of the forest.

And me? Is this the end of my creative crisis? The beginning of something new?

Technical issues

It was executed with a 50mm Nikon lens, at  f2.8, 1/500s, 100 ISO. Technically this is not a complicated photograph, nor with difficult light management. I chose a large diaphragm apperture for a short depth-of-field. After composition, the most critical was focusing and the choosing the point of focus.
I centre attention of the composition, making use of an angle upwards. I also got underneath the branches and leaves. Before the click, I saw how the great tree trunks, in the background, would be framed together with the lines of the branches and contrasting leaves.

Critial review

Composition and content play with  contrasts in light, colour, geometry, texture and strength. Contrasts are a major component in my Photography. This is another example. Composition is strong, using the centre and the third part below, defined by the main branch forming an angle. There is also the vertical line of the tree trunks, at the back. This contrasts with the more chaotic and light geometry of leaves and twigs. The upper part, unfocused, guides the eye to something that is farther and stronger, heavier and apparently more immobile. It is behind what seems to be more volatile, fragile and temporary - the new leaves of spring.
Where you should place it

As always, good lighting! Directed and localised spots will do a better job. This is not a photograph of great detail, but more of lighting and color contrasts. This is why it will deliver emotion if in good light. I suggest a large and wide passpartout with a wooden frame. A thick one, I'd say.
As to where to place it, I honestly don't see it in a central position, in any living room or office. Without devaluing the photograph, I'd suggest a hall entrance. Well lit!
